Personal data we process
Sensuelse processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide that data to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data we process:
- First name and surname
- Telephone number
- Email address
- What you write to me through the contact form or by email
- What you share with me during a session or programme, together with the notes and reflection records that belong to it
- Data about your visit to this website, only if you give permission for that in the cookie notice (see Cookies below)
Part of what you share during sessions may concern your physical or mental health. That is special category personal data; how I handle it is set out below.
Special category and/or sensitive personal data we process
In my work I process data you share with me yourself that may concern your physical or mental health — for instance in session notes, reflection records, and in what you tell me during a session or programme. This is special category personal data. I record it only with your explicit consent, and use it only in order to guide you well and to safeguard the continuity and quality of the sessions. You can withdraw your consent at any time; I will then delete the data in question, unless I am legally required to keep it.
Our website and services are not intended to collect data about visitors under the age of 16, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. We cannot, however, check whether a visitor is over 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities, so as to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you believe we have collected personal data about a minor without that consent, please contact us at els@sensuelse.nl and we will delete the information.
Why we process personal data
Sensuelse processes your personal data for the purposes below. For each purpose, the legal ground for doing so is stated; the GDPR calls this the basis for processing.
- Providing guidance and coaching, and recording what is needed for it (such as session notes and reflection records), so that I can guide you carefully and with continuity. Basis: the agreement we enter into together. For data about your health: your explicit consent.
- Replying to your message when you contact me through the contact form, by email or by telephone. Basis: your request, as a step before any agreement.
- Being able to call or email you where this is needed to carry out our services, for example for preparation and aftercare. Basis: the agreement.
- Informing you about changes to our services. Basis: the agreement.
- Sending news about events and inspiration, only if you sign up for it. Basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Keeping invoices and records. Basis: the statutory (tax) retention obligation.
- Measuring how the website is used, so that I can improve it. Basis: your consent through the cookie notice.
How long we keep personal data
Sensuelse does not keep your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. We apply the following retention periods:
- Invoices and records: 7 years. We are legally required to keep these (the tax retention obligation of the Dutch Tax Administration).
- Session notes, reflection records and health data: up to 7 years after the end of the client relationship.
- Other contact details (name, telephone number, email address): up to 2 years after the end of the client relationship. If you have given permission to be kept up to date about events and inspiration, we process your data for that purpose until you unsubscribe.
Sharing personal data with third parties
Sensuelse shares personal data with third parties only where this is necessary to carry out the agreement (for example with partners with whom an event is organised jointly) and in order to comply with any legal obligation. Data is never sold to third parties. Processors who handle your data do so entirely under the responsibility of Sensuelse, and process the data only for the purpose for which it was originally collected. Where data is shared because of a legal obligation, the data is no longer used solely for the original purpose, and Sensuelse is no longer responsible for the data provided.
For part of my work I use other parties. They process data only for the purpose for which I engage them:
- my hosting provider, where this website and the contact form run;
- my email service, where messages from the contact form and by email arrive;
- Hipsy (hipsy.nl), for booking and payment for retreats and events. If you book through Hipsy, their privacy policy applies as well;
- Google, for Google Analytics, only if you give permission for it.
Data outside Europe. If one of these parties uses servers outside the European Union, as Google does for Google Analytics in the United States, this happens only with the safeguards the GDPR requires. For Google, that is the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies, or similar techniques, that we use
Sensuelse uses cookies with a purely technical, functional purpose. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone on your first visit to this website. These functional cookies make sure the website works properly. The cookie blocksy_cookies_consent_accepted, for instance, remembers your choice in the cookie notice for up to six months, so that I do not have to ask you again on every page. No consent is needed for these cookies.
I also use Google Analytics, but only if you give permission for it in the cookie notice. It shows me how the website is used, for example which pages are visited, for how long and from which region, so that I can improve it. For this, Google Analytics places two cookies, _ga and _ga_6FBRN04HRX, which are kept for up to two years. According to Google, IP addresses of visitors from the EU are not stored. I do not use cookies for advertising or to follow you across other websites. If you decline, nothing is measured and no data goes to Google. You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time through Cookie settings at the foot of every page.
You can also decline cookies by setting your browser so that it no longer stores them. You can delete all information previously stored through your browser settings as well. For an explanation, see veiliginternetten.nl (in Dutch).
Viewing, amending or deleting your data
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw any consent you have given for the processing, or to object to the processing of your personal data by Sensuelse, and you have the right to data portability. That means you can ask us to send the personal data we hold about you, in a computer file, to you or to another organisation you name.
You can send a request to view, correct, delete or transfer your personal data, or a request to withdraw your consent or to object to the processing, to els@sensuelse.nl.
To be sure that the request was made by you, I may ask you to confirm your identity in a way that reveals no more data than necessary — for example by replying from the email address I already know. I will not routinely ask you for a copy of your identity document. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, and within four weeks at the latest.
Sensuelse would also like to point out that you have the option of lodging a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). You can do so through this link.
How we protect personal data
Sensuelse takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised alteration. If you feel your data is not properly protected, or there are signs of misuse, please contact us at els@sensuelse.nl.
We do everything we can to keep our systems and your personal data as secure as possible. If you do discover a vulnerability or a weak spot, we would like to hear about it straight away, so that we can act quickly. For this we follow the international security.txt standard. The instructions for reporting a vulnerability safely, and our contact details, can be found in our security file: sensuelse.nl/.well-known/security.txt.
